Reliant Scimitar SE4 Straight Six 1966 offered for sale in excellent condition.
These SE Straight sixes are very rare cars and this is one of the best examples to come to market. This pretty rebodied Sabre 6 designed by Ogle was the first ever Scimitar and was launched at the 1964 Motor Show. There are only a handful of these left on the road and at Scimfest 2024, which celebrated their 60th anniversary, there were only 2 examples present.
GJA567D is number 173 and is documented on the RSSOC Register. The current vendor is a collector and purchased the vehicle from an active well known Club member who maintained the vehicle to a very high standard with mechanicals and an engine rebuild by Ian Daniels Motorsport. This is not only one of the best looking but also an excellent driving car.
This vehicle also underwent further work, including instrumentation, an overdrive / transmission rebuild, and a paint refinish in the striking MGA colour, costing over £8k. The interior remains largely original and is in fantastic condition. There are records of the work that has been undertaken by the current owner, and 3 previous owners, with numerous bills and receipts present. There are various old MOTs, old photos and a green log book, along with a copy of a rare owners handbook and engine workshop manual, all can be found in the history folder for the vehicle. In the boot of this vehicle, you will find the jack with handle, tool roll and spare wheel.
These are important cars in respect to the motoring heritage and typify what was good in respect to design and performance back in the mid 60's. The exhaust note from the triple SU Straight Six engine on song is definitely something you wont forget.
