Mercedes 300SL Automatic R129 1990 offered for sale at NO RESERVE. Acquired in 2021 by the current vendor after the vehicle had been off the road for a number of years, this vehicle was last on the road in 2017 and shows a current mileage of 106,000 miles. The vehicle comes with the Original Service Booklet, dated 3/8/1990 and has 13 stamps in the book, up to 94,774 miles. The history folder also features 12 previous MOT certificates, much of the ownership was a lady doing low mileage.

The car comes with a hard top but the convertible roof is not working and the canvas is in need of replacing. In the vendor's ownership, the brakes have been overhauled, the paint corrected and detailed. It is sitting on new tyres on all four corners and they had the alloy wheels refurbished to a high standard. They remain unmarked and as new condition inside and out. 

The engine starts for the first time and is in lovely running condition. It will need a full service, which is next on the current vendor's to do list. This car is in lovely condition, with no rust and underneath has never been welded and is  original. The vendor has spent over £400 to replace light relays, which resolved all issues, other than the dipped main beam (possibly earth related). The car goes through the gearbox smoothly but again the vendor would have serviced the gearbox before putting it back on the road. Under the bonnet is in its original condition and the wiper motor and radiator has been replaced in the current vendor's ownership.The jacking points are as new and in original condition. The exhaust is leak free and in good original condition. There is a file with various receipts, MOT's, etc. 

All in all, this is a great car that the main cost in terms of recommissioning will be the operation of the roof. Currently the fuse is continuously blowing and therefore not operable. The interior is in good usable condition, the driver seat bolster needs repairing and the passenger seat modele it not working. However, the door cards are good, the central locking does not work, and the Driver's door latch needs reconnecting.
