The MG Insurance Services valued the car at £6,500 in 1991 for Mr T R Hatcher, the previous owner.  Following the vendors purchase in May 1995 the car was used daily until March 98 (mileage 57,839) when the engine was rebuilt professionally with new big ends, pistons and liners, lead-free head, electronic ignition and various minor general maintenance jobs. The car was garaged with a SORN from April 99 to October 2003 (mileage 59,856) since when the car has been MOT'd annually but with limited mileage driven and routine servicing/correction of 'advisory' issues.  Minor body work and a full re-spray, in the same colour, was carried out by a local specialist in 2018, and in 2019 the MGOC workshop, Swavesey removed the engine and gearbox, repaired and rebuilt the gearbox, replaced the overdrive loom and repaired various other jobs. Over the last four years, servicing, maintenance and MOT has been carried out by a local garage specialising in Classic Cars.

The car is not perfect; the interior is largely original in black vinyl; the body is sound (for long life the vendor wax-oiled the whole underside and inside all the box frames, doors, panels etc shortly after buying it); the engine and general mechanics have been maintained keeping the 'MOT advisory items' to reasonable items.  The vendor now wishes to pass on the car to another owner to enjoy it.
